With the adoption of the annual Surat boat race, VR has integrated itself as a community driven centre and JAL TAPI is a testimony to that. The large canvas sail painted in the vibrant oeuvre of Paresh Maity's palette, pays tribute to the city of Surat – recognised as one of India's fastest growing cities through its industrial contribution to the Indian economy, especially in textile, diamond and the Zari businesses. Paresh Maity has transformed the boat that won first place at the Boat Race in February 2012, employing motifs from Surti culture, history and economic traditions. The boat and sail proudly herald the landmark inauguration of Virtuous Retail's inaugural centre in India.
